Passive fire remediation in Auckland

Passive fire remediation

We remediate and reinstate passive fire systems in apartment buildings, mixed-use towers, body corporate properties and commercial buildings across Auckland. We manage every project from the first site inspection through to final sign-off, with specialist passive fire installers working under our site management. Our site and project managers are Licensed Building Practitioners, and we are SiteWise and SiteConnect accredited.

We work alongside fire engineers, architects and asset managers under one programme, with a single point of contact throughout. Every penetration is sealed with a tested fire-stopping system, and every step is documented to the standard councils, surveyors and insurers expect.

Our process

From site inspection to sign-off

We start with a full site inspection. Every penetration, fire-rated wall, door and seal is surveyed and checked against the consented design, so the scope reflects the building as it actually stands before any work begins.

Each penetration is then matched to a tested fire-stopping system in consultation with the fire engineer. Specialist installers apply products to manufacturer specification under our site management, and every penetration is photographed as it is completed.

At handover, you receive producer statements, manufacturer certifications and a photographic record for every unit. It is everything your council, IQP or insurer needs to sign off the work, in one package.

Frequently asked

  • Fire separations in older apartment and commercial buildings are often compromised over time. New services are run through fire-rated walls and floors without being resealed, fire doors are altered or fitted with the wrong hardware, and ceiling spaces are opened during fit-outs and never properly closed up. Remediation restores those separations so the building complies with the NZ Building Code and performs as designed in a fire.
